First, please tell us about the origins of NIN. When did you start to play as Nuevo Ideal Nacional and how many persons are now involved in this project?

First, thank you very much for the interview. Nuevo Ideal Nacional born in 2008, in an excursion to the mountains, one of us proposed to create a project of "noise/martial/experimental" and this way born the idea. We were in this moment 3 comrades, and remain the 3

What equipment or instruments do you use to create sounds? Are you able to play concerts?

The idea was born as an experiment, Musically, we come from the world of metal, and despite of being followers of Neofolk and Martial Industrial scene, We did not have any clear idea of how to "play" or "compose" "martial music", then, we begin to experience, with what we had; a bass, a guitar, drum, a violin, amplifiers, distortión and one computer... added to all this background noise. N.I.N was created as a studio project, but maybe we may play in a concert.

What are your favourite bands or composers, your main musical inspirations and influences?

The strongest influence for us is the “Industrial Martial” with strong percussion and martial spirit, Triarii is a great influence and Arditi, but who inspired us to start was the band Argentum from Argentina with its martial more "experimental", on the other hand, the Neofolk is the ideal music for us, its beautiful melody and lyric is a great inspiration. Sol Invictus, Current 93, Von Thronstahl, Sonne Hagal, Death in June, Blood Axis, Ritual Front, Belborn and a long list.

Do you consider Nuevo Ideal Nacional as a part of so-called “martial industrial” scene? Are there any other industrial, martial or neofolk projects in Venezuela? What is the essence of “industrial music” for you?

We try to make “Martial Industrial” by the bellicose spirit, rebellious and heroic of the music, we are only interested in the martial side of the “Industrial” scene, for us the industrial scene is the confrontation of the modern world with its own decadence and the “ Industrial Martial” is the evocation of a superior ideal.
In Venezuela is a project of Neofolk / instrumental / acoustic called, Paramus (www.myspace.com/paramusvzla) highly recommended.

As I can see, your music is not only “martial” or “historical” but it contains strong political message. It seems that one of the most important persons for you is president Marcos Perez Jimenez. Here in Poland we don’t know very much about this figure.

Basically MPJ (Marcos Perez Jimenez) was a general who saved Venezuela of the communist influence from the 50, ruled for 8 years, during this time applied a doctrine called "New National Ideal" (Nuevo Ideal Nacional, the name of the band) this doctrine picked up the thought of Venezuelan intellectuals of early 20th century along with the doctrines of the Konservative Revolution, traditionalism and Falangism. During these 8 years was dedicated to transforming the physical and spiritual environment of the Venezuelan people. Was applied a policy of selective immigration, giving all facilities to European families, to live in Venezuela, and much of the country's infrastructure was built during the 8 years.

In fact, when we hear about Venezuela, we hear mainly about social experiments of Hugo Chavez. So what is your opinion about him?

In South America there is a rule, to be a successful dictator, be the typical left-wing populist, that is Chavez, a leftist populist, deeply ignorant and mediocre, unable to create, unable to govern or to aspire to something superior. Is a typical puppet of the world powers, speaks against U.S. but serves to the U.S. interest, Chavez basically is destroying Venezuela, that's his mission and their only achievement is mediocrity as a form of government.
